2015 წლის ზაფხულში კონტრაქტი ოდესის ჩორნომორეცთან გააფორმა და სასტარტო შემადგენლობის მუდმივი წევრი გახდა. 2017 წლის მარტში უკრაინის პრემიერლიგის სიმბოლურ ნაკრებში ითამაშა.
2017 წლის აპრილში დონეცკის “შახტარმა” დაადასტურა, რომ ხოჭოლავამ კლუბთან ხუთწლიანი კონტრაქტი გააფორმა, სადაც ბოლომდე თამაშობდა. 2021 წლის 6 ივლისს კი დანიის სუპერლიგის გუნდი F.C. კოპენჰაგენში ოთხწლიანი კონტრაქტით გადავიდა. ერთ თვეში კლუბის შემადგენლობაში თავისი გოლი გაიტანა. 2022 წლის 22 მაისს, კლუბთან ერთად მოიგო დანიის სუპერლიგა.
დავით ხოჭოლავას დებიუტი საქართველოს ნაკრების შემადგენლობაში 2017 წლის 23 იანვარს უზბეკეთთან ამხანაგურ მატჩში შედგა.
პირადი ცხოვრება
2020 წელს მაშინდელი დონეცკის “შახტარის” ფეხბურთელი “მის უკრაინის” კონკურსის ფინალისტზე იულია სიდორენკოზე დაქორწინდა. როგორც მაშინ ადგილობრივი მედია წერდა, უკრაინელი მოდელის გულისთვის დავით ხოჭოლავა პირველ მეუღლეს დაშორდა.
“სწორედ სიდორენკოს გამო მიატოვა ხოჭოლავამ მეუღლე, ყოფილი მოდელი ალინა, რომელზეც 2018 წლის მაისში იქორწინა”, – აღნიშნავდა გამოცემა.
პირველი ქორწილი სპორტსმენმა პარიზში გადაიხადა. ალინამ მეუღლის გვარი მიიღო და ალინა ხოჭოლავა გახდა. ასე იყო ის დარეგისტრირებული სოციალურ ქსელშიც, სადაც ქართველ ქმარს რომანტიკულ პოსტებს უძღვნიდა.
მეორე ქორწილი უკრაინაში შედგა. მეუღლის გვარზე გადავიდა იულიაც და ახლა ქალი იულია ხოჭოლავაა. ქორწილიდან რამდენიმე თვეში წყვილს პირველი შვილი, ალექსანდრე შეეძინა. ცოტა ხნის წინ ცნობილი გახდა, რომ ისინი უკვე მეორე შვილს ელოდებიან.
